The gaiwan is woodfired in Jingdezhen. Made of refined clay, the gaiwan appears delicate with a lovely gradation of colors from light orange to white resulted from several days straight of wood firing. It is distinguished with the green pool filling the middle of the lid as well as at the bottom of the inside ,building a graceful connection between the inside and outside. The rim is dusted with brown speckles in full, adding another layer of esthetics.
The gaiwan holds approximately 110ml of liquid featuring a thin body .Pinched out slightly, the rim is extremely easy to pour out the tea, and thin enough to prevent the fingers from the heat as well. As the inside is not glazed, we recommend dedicating it to a kind of tea to help improve the taste of the same tea with long-term use, as most zisha teapots are treated.
