The two Zisha teapots (purple clay teapot) are handmade by a young but accomplished potter Yu Binyou based in Jingdezhen, who has devoted most of time to exploring new world of zisha teapots. The reason why we would like to work with him and his mother is because they are trying to discard restriction of tradition and develop new element on zisha teapots. You are easy to smell renovation from the look of his work of art if you have gone through a lot of zisha pots in the  normal market generally.

The two zisha teapots are made of purple-red-brown zini (purple clay) minded from Yixing, which features porous structure for “nourishing” teapot through absorbing tea. And both teapots are characterized by faint grid on the surface which provides gentle sense of touch. The knob of lid is taller than usual and practical in holding before pouring. Both teapots hold approximately 100ml and 115ml of liquid with multi-holes ball filter so that it is recommended for small tea-gathering. Expertly connected into body of pot, the spout is able to embrace smooth pour and sharp stop of pour without drips. Zisha also retains heat well and facilitate the pleasing compounds released  from the tea leaf.

Please pay attention that as the teapot is not glazed on the inside , we suggest the user of the teapot devote it to a kind of tea for better “nourishing”. Therefore the taste of tea will be improved gradually after long-term brewing the same tea in the teapot. For these reasons, it shall not be washed using detergents, but rather water only.
