Feature: made of aged woods collected literally from remote villages which have been used for other purposes for decades generally before crafting, those trays are characterized by the ancient designs with several patches around the body textured with multiple hand-carved strips, minimizing the distraction and manifesting strong wabisabi esthetics.
A (square):18 * 18* 6cm
B(rectangular): 37 * 11* 4.5c
Note:Please note as the wood of those trays is not freshly from the wild, characterised by imperfection and so-called flaws. If you are addicted to perfection, this series of trays will not be your taste at all.
Artist: Those wooden trays are handmade by a craftsman, Wu Jianghai from Jingdezhen. With a long-term passion for tea and teaware, Wu quit the marketing job and devoted himself to making wooden tea set accessories. Aimed to incorporate the ancient elements into the modern tea-brewing, he spent a lot of time on the bunt for antique wood as materials and retaining the organic texture in the finished crafts as much as possible. To a great extent, his crafts heighten the sense of wabi-sabi to a tea ceremony, reflecting his appreciation of nature's force and a quest for a simple life.
