The two cups are made by a female potter, Fan base in Jingdezhen, who has committed herself to study of shino glaze for 7 years. Fan ’s potteries are charaterized by shade of green or yellow crystals in the surface created by her own blending of glaze.
The two cups are made with shino glaze which colors both cups light yellow with a lovely crackled effect which will deepen with using. The surface of each cup moves between yellow ,white and black. With a mottled effect of light yellow and black across the white body, each cup provides the visual and textural contrast giving a contemporary appearance . The inside has significant effect of crackles with rim lined in yellow and black.
Both cups hold approximately 110ml of liquid. But due to the rim pinched into the inside, it may be too hot to hold the cup with too much tea . So we suggest to fill the cup with hot tea less than 2/3 volume. We hereby offer two cups for you, one feeling lighter and the other darker . So we recommend referring to the photos for the color you are interested in.
