Those gaiwans are made by a creative and accomplished team called Bian in Jingdezhen, whose potteries feature nature-inspired shape finishing with silver glaze among them. They are devoted to linking pottery with nature which their inspirations derive from. With the vision of nature, how a vibrant life is thriving can be found through their work of art significantly.
Those gaiwans are made of ceramic ,giving it refined appearance. They have matte black as primary colour before being brushed radially with silver glaze on the outside including the lid and body. The interior of the gaiwan is applied with subtle red glaze providing the visual contrast and being aesthetically beautiful. From the rim to the bottom, the interior of body varies from full, bright reds to lighter hues seamlessly. The thin wall of the gaiwan makes it lightweight and metal-like texture. Despite of elaborate appearance, the ceramic is strong and practical in using without much worry of fragility.
The gaiwans hold approximately 120ml of liquid. Pinched out slightly, the rim is extreme thin and easy to pour out the tea , and thin enough prevent the fingers from the heat as well.
Please note that all gaiwans are individually glazed ,so the red of interior varies from dark to light depending on the gaiwan selected. We recommend referring to the photos for exact color you are interested in.
