The marine blue teapot is handmade by studio Mupu which is run by a couple (check here for more details) in Jingdezhen. Their crafts are known for unique marine blue glaze which is blended by themselves and appears rare in the market.
The teapot is made of ceramic with a blended glaze ,coloring it light blue with a mottled effect and dark blue area where the glaze gathers and drops providing textural touch . Slight matte brown speckles are grouped over the blue at the down part of the pot, which are brought about by the different thickness of glaze in the gas kiln, while the upper part is textured with some faint concentric circles making the pot more stylish.
You will never ever go wrong with the pleasure to use any piece made by Mupu studio. The teapot is not exceptional. It holds roughly 170ml of liquid making idea for any scale of the tea session. Multi-holes ball filter strains the tea in the spout which ensures a smooth pour without any drips.
Please note that as the teapot is not glazed on the inside , we suggest the user of the teapot devote it to a kind of tea for better “nourishing”. Therefore the taste of tea will be improved gradually after long-term brewing the same tea in the teapot. For these reasons, it shall not be washed using detergents, but rather water only.
