The woodfired houhin is made by the studio Dilu based in Jingdezhen (check here to learn about Dilu).
The woodfired houhin features a deer laying down on the lid. Made of terracotta clay, The houhin comes out with a lovely gradation of colors from dark to light orange with metallic sheen all over, which is caused by an interaction with ash of the wood and flame after being fired in the kiln for 3 days and nights. The houhin is also characterised by the lightly engraving of flows around the upper body , giving esthetical enhancement.
The houhin holds 130 ml liquid roughly. Multi-holes filter strains the tea in the spout which ensures a smooth pour. As the teapot stays in the woodfiring kiln over 1300℃ for 3 days and nights, the lid is not as fitting as zisha teapot, it won't affect on use for normal tea brew. There are two curve handle attached into both sides of the body to prevent the hands from heats.
Please pay attention that as the teapot is not glazed on the inside , we suggest the user of the teapot devote it to a kind of tea for better “nourishing”. Therefore the taste of tea will be improved gradually after long-term brewing the same tea in the teapot. For these reasons, it shall not be washed using detergents, but rather water only.
