The soda-firing teacup is characterised by interplay between crimson on the top and contrasting light mint-green on the bottom, resulted from the reaction between soda and clay during process of firing. The vitrified surface offers nice tactile quality with the pronounced crackles throughout which will deepen with using .On the crimson area outside, there is a mottled effect of mint-green, adding another interesting layer .The teacup has several facets cut off the wet cup, that run down diagonally from left to right across the cup. White outlines of the teacup provides significantly a visual contrast with surface, allowing to give aesthetic enhancement. The inside has speckled effect of crimson spots with light mint-green pool at the bottom.
The teacup holds approximately 145ml of liquid making it ideal for intimate tea session without the company of a fair cup if the teapot used is normal size (100ml-150ml). Pinched out slightly, the rim has lovely wave outline, allowing a pleasure to hold and preventing the hand from heat, while the thick wall provides good heat preservation quality.
