This gaiwan is hand thrown and engraved by the potter Wu Yiyan based in Jingdezhen. Being obsessed with the contemporary esthetics, Yiyan is credited with the simplicity and elegance reflected on his works.
With the black slip glaze blended by the potter himself , the gaiwan features the matte black on the outside of the body , giving an assuming but stylish appearance. It textured with pin-stripes which is hand engraved one by one before being applied glaze. Made of fine clay and engraved exquisitely throughout, the gaiwan offers a soft touch and pleasure to fit with your hands.
The gaiwan holds approximately 110ml of liquid . Pinched out slightly, the rim is extremely easy to pour out the tea, and thin enough to prevent the fingers from the heat as well. The glazed interior makes all teas available for brewing in this gaiwan.
