The tea tray is made and woodfired by Huke in Jingdezhen, an important pottery center in China. Hu used to be a media worker in his early career. However, with a passion about nature and countryside life growing gradually, Hu made up his mind to quit the well-developed media work and put his root in Jingdezhen for studying wood firing where he is able to feel the truth of nature and life. . Hu is aimed to develop a line of mini teapots for a small tea ceremony as a teapot suiting for single-person brewing plays an important role during his daily meditation.
The tea tray is stunning with the embossed motifs depicting cranes are flying through clouds. Due to woodfiring for a few days straight, the tray is colored in the buff with a speckled effect of dark brown, feeling rough throughout .
The tray is approximately 18.3 cm in diameter which is quite practical to hold a single teapot or gaiwan. As the tray has design of a shallow-bowl allowing to shower a teapot at once or twice.
