The gaiwan is accomplished by a young couple based in Jingdezhen, with male throwing and glazing the gaiwan , and female painting it . The couple is committed to crafting Fenyin (white slip glaze) potteries by incorporating contemporary art as much as they can.
The Christmas tree gaiwan is made of rough clay with the texture grained and bumpy, and finished with transparent glaze throughout before being painted, turning vitrified and offering pleasure to touch. It features the handpainted Christmas trees across the whole gaiwan which is originally designed by Chasing Tea for the upcoming Christmas Holiday.
The gaiwan holds approximately 110ml of liquid featuring thick body which helps to retain the heat well . Pinched out slightly, the rim is extremely easy to pour out the tea, and thin enough to prevent the fingers from the heat as well.The glazed interior makes all teas available for brewing in those gaiwans.
