The zisha tea tray is made by Yu, a free potter based in Jingdezhen (check here to learn more about Yu).
Made of roughy clay, the flat tea tray is applied with bright black glaze at the upper tray , and matte black with a mottled effect of red (a kind of zisha) at the bottom, offering significant textural and visual contrast. With the simple and clean design, the tray fits most of tea set.
The tray is approximately 13cm in diameter which is quite practical to hold a single teapot or gaiwan. Due to the flat bottom, it can’t hold too much liquid. If you really want to shower a teapot on it, only a time is available.
